A woman found with 250 wraps of class A drugs in Potters Bar has been jailed. Chante Read, aged 33, of Lye Lane in Bricket Wood, appeared at St Albans Crown Court where she was sentenced to six years in prison. Read had been arrested by the Potters Bar and Shenley Neighbourhood Policing Team on Thursday 5 February. Officers found her with 250 wraps of cocaine and heroin. Detectives then took on an investigation resulting in her being sentenced last month (Monday 21 September). Detective Constable Laura Thomas from West Criminal Investigation Department (CID) said: “Drugs destroy lives and cause misery to communities. I hope this sentence sends a strong message that drug dealing has no place here in Hertsmere. “If you have information about drug dealing, please report it to us so we can take action. There is also the option to report completely anonymously by the independent charity, Crimestoppers.” You can report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can stay 100% anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org. In an emergency, always call 999.
